Quilted Vest Progress

This evening I made a lot of progress on the horizontal quilting lines for the back piece, but I'm not done yet. When I get all the horizontal lines finished I'll need to do the vertical lines for the back piece and both front sections. I'm enjoying quilting, it pairs well with audiobooks, and once everything is marked I can spend a lot time sewing before needing to set up the next pieces. This is at least the second day I've spent just on horizontal lines for the back, the vertical lines will take even longer because they cover the whole piece, but the horizontal lines stop near the waist. I'm using thread which gradually changes from white to dark amber, with various kinds of lighter orange and gold in between. I chose gradient thread so that the final quilted grid is clear, but visually accommodates any imperfections by fading in and out of view.

The back panel of a long vest, folded over to show that on side is purple and the other is white. The white side has a grid drawn in blue, the purple side shows several horizontal lines of stitching, but some of the stitching near the neck portion is missing.
